Camelot and all of its associated characters have existed in an endless state of flux since they first appeared in scriptures. With each subsequent text, produced by countless authors over several centuries, the characters, the castle, and the stories that tie them together have all been presented in different forms and places in a quivering evolutionary process, resulting in an entirely vaporous legend with no singular, determinant truth. This project emulates the myth’s generative process and ambiguous character. As ice water is poured into liquid wax, and the wax solidifies around it, a network of complex, interconnected spaces are organically birthed into being, seemingly morphing and expanding as one moves through them. The overall form, existing entirely underground, remains perpetually kinetic, understood only in fragments to be pieced together by the individual subject, without the aid of site-guided orientation. The result is a complete denial of a single comprehensive form, as well as a complete denial of place - a fleeting architecture which is, and exists in, a vapor.
